Balance Training with BIODEX

Who can benefit from Balance Training?
Impaired balance can be a result of numerous problems including but not limited to: post surgery, injury, weakness, neuropathy, and visual or vestibular conditions. Injured athletes, post surgical patients and the elderly can all benefit from improved balance.

Physical therapists along with your physician can help to determine the cause of the balance impairment and with training can help to improve balance, prevent falls, or get you back into your sport.

What is the difference between Vertigo and Dizziness?

Vertigo is described as a sensation of spinning and is usually associated with nausea. Dizziness is often described as feeling light-headed or feeling faint and is usually associated with imbalance.

Can physical therapy help with Vertigo and Dizziness?
Yes. Physical therapists with training in Vestibular/Balance therapy along with your physician can help determine the cause of your symptoms and develop a treatment plan using balance training, vestibular rehabilitation and visual exercises to help overcome dizziness or vertigo. With a diagnosis of BPPV treatments can be effective in only one or two visits.
